The Nutcracker Classic Holiday Ballet

The popular holiday classic, “The Nutcracker”, will be reprised at the historic El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood
December 6th through 8th 2013
, marking The Red Chair
Children’s Production Company’s eighth annual season offering up the timeless
Tchaikovsky ballet to southern California residents.



Unique
among area Nutcracker productions, The Red Chair’s energetic rendition features
young performers, ages 5 to 18, in principal and supporting roles along with
adults.  Amidst lavish sets and
glittering costumes, a cast of over 100 will bring to life the enchanting
storybook tale of a young girl’s magical Christmas Eve that takes her, and the
audience, on a delightful and exciting journey.



Five performances will be held:  Friday, December 6th
at 8pm, Saturday, December 7th at 2pm and 8pm, Sunday, December 8th
at 12pm and 5pm. 
Tickets for
the matinee and evening performances are $20, $25 or $30 and tickets; they may
be purchased at the El Portal Theatre box office at 5269 Lankershim Blvd. in

Along
with these five performances several special events will be held in conjunction
with the ballets.  The Friday
evening show will be preceded by a Wine
and Cheese Reception at 6:30pm
($15 per person), the Saturday matinee will
be followed by a “Clara’s Tea Party”
event for the whole family ($50 for two or $60 for two at the door), the
Saturday evening line-up will include Carolers and a special appearance by Santa Claus at 7pm with
the ballet to follow it; and, the Sunday matinee will be followed by “Drosselmeyer’s Bag of Candy Delights” ($5
per person) after the closing Nutcracker performance Sunday evening will
include the performance, join us, immediately following the show, at The
Eclectic Cafe at 5156 Lankershim Blvd. for dinner and 20% of the total proceeds
will go to RCCPC.
