The San Fernando Valley Republican Club Announces that it will not endorse either Brad Sherman or Howard Berman in the 30th Congressional District.
San Fernando Valley, California - August 8, 2012 - At its monthly membership meeting on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, the San Fernando Valley Republican Club decided not to endorse or support either Brad Sherman or Howard Berman for Congress in the 30th Congressional District.
A Resolution was presented to the body and after discussion was passed overwhelmingly. The Resolution passed by the SFVRC is:
"Whereas the San Fernando Valley Republican club supports the conservative principles of limited government, lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, free enterprise, strong national defense and individual freedom, and,
Whereas Congressman Brad Sherman and Congressman Howard Berman have demonstrated little, if any support for those principles in their voting records, and,
Whereas the American Conservative Union has give a lifetime rating of 4.65 out of 100.00 to Brad Sherman and a lifetime rating of 5.00 out of 100.00 to Howard Berman for support of conservative principles,
Therefore, be it Resolved, that the San Fernando Valley Republican Club will neither endorse nor support either Cong. Sherman or Cong. Berman in the 2012 Congressional contest in the 30th Congressional District in the San Fernando Valley. "
"The San Fernando Valley Republican Club commends both Cong. Berman and Cong. Sherman on their strong support for Israel, but the SFVRC will take no position in the congressional race," said President Gary Aminoff. "It would not be possible for Republicans who believe in conservative principles to be able to support either candidate in good conscience."
The San Fernando Valley Republican Club is the largest Republican Club in California with over 600 members who live or work in the San Fernando Valley.
