Cool Temperatures Continue; Warming Trend Next Week

Of course it was too good to last.

Low pressure and an onshore flow continue to work our temperatures down this week.  The tangible effects of the controlling weather features above us include morning low clouds and fog (courtesy of a deep and far-inland-pushing marine layer), much more comfortable high temperatures (courtesy of the onshore flow), and perhaps a nice breeze over the next few days (courtesy of the increasing pressure gradient).

Enjoy it while you can.  Next week is exceptionally uncertain.  There is a notable lack of consistency between the various forecast models.  The consensus over at the National Weather Service is that high pressure will build over New Mexico and expand west, bringing high temperatures once again to the Southland.

So what can we expect?  A few more of these June-like days, with the marine layer giving us some low clouds and possible fog in the mornings.  The change will come on Monday.  The morning clouds and fog will disappear, and the temps will go up.  Looks at this point like the hot day will be Wednesday, but a lot can change between now and then.
