In a land called Studio City, in Californ-I-A,
Something new was added three years ago today.
A guy named Mike Szymanski decided he would hatch
Our very own newspaper and so we got our Patch.
It gave us news and articles and info of all sorts,
It even gave us doggie news as well as weather and sports.
We suddenly became enriched -- news soft, medium and hard
From the 101 to Mulholland and along the Boulevard.
Patch thrived and grew and flourished without banality.
(Discounting news of starlets) without superficiality.
We might have been overloaded with more than one review.
But he more than compensated with a list of things to do.
Some silly local problems were discussed and dignified.
No matter what, above all we carry neighborhood pride.
Mike made room in our paper for all who wanted to write
A blog, news item or silly stuff we might consider trite.
Our Patch has grown and prospered, developed over time.
How wonderful in this day and age it doesn’t cost a dime.
So we salute the man in charge. Three years we’ll never forget.
Happy Anniversary, Mike. We hope you have no regret.
With gratitude and love from Studio City.
