Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Grill in Studio City opens tomorrow. today and must say as a devoted gentleman who lunches regularly, I love the place. Lunching is one of my favorite activities so I take it serious and nothing is more serious than where to lunch. Sammy’s will definitely be added to the rotation. Here is why.
The menu is comprehensive, offering more than just pizza. There are tapas, tacos, mini burgers, sandwiches, salads and of course pizza. Additionally, the vegetarian and gluten free options are plentiful! I’m not a vegetarian per se, but I do try to eat primarily a plant based diet and there were many choices on the menu. A favorite for me today was the artichoke fritters. A hushpuppy looking thing filled with warm goat cheese and artichoke served with a creamy herb dressing. Yum!
The decadent desserts also caught my eye with freshly baked donuts and flavored cotton candy along with traditional items like sundaes; making your final selection will probably be the hardest part of the whole experience. So I recommend bringing a friend and sharing.
If all that wasn’t enough, the restaurant boast that it supports local farms. They also provide a to-go menu, catering, gift cards and an exclusive E-Club membership for regulars.
Located on the corner of Laurel Canyon Blvd. and Ventura Blvd., in that shopping center; parking is ample by LA standards and free with validation. Check them out this weekend for lunch or dinner, and let us know what you think.
