PLUS SIZE DATING – Wristband for Singles

PLUS SIZE DATING – Wristband for Singles

At least once a day I meet a  bloke and think ” Ooh, he’s sexy I wonder if he’s single?” Sure, married men wear a wedding ring to show they’re spoken for but fellas who are engaged or in long term relationships don’t. If you’re in the plus size dating pool (like me) then you’ll know how much of a pain in the booty it is figuring out which guys are actually on the open dating market. Bloody hell can you please give me a sign?

So many times I’ve been happily chatting to a guy thinking it could go somewhere only to find out he’s got a girlfriend and two kids waiting for him at home. Geez, I know my sparkling personality is captivating but can you please mention your baby momma in the first few minutes Mate. I’m not Benjamin Button aging in freakin’ reverse! I’m in my thirties and on a timeline. For this reason I’ve always believed there should be a male equivalent of an engagement ring.

Actually, what we really need is a universal status indicator showing who is available and who isn’t. I reckon this would save thousands of plus size women loads of time and unnecessary embarrassment.

The new solution on the market is My Single Band. They’re wristbands that displays to the world you are single and looking for love.  The bands come in seven colours but as far as I can tell they’re not coded like a traffic light party. E.G Blue doesn’t mean i’m single and gay, orange doesn’t mean I’m single but have a kid. They all just mean “I’m single so feel free to chat me up. Take a chance!”

As much as I like the idea, I can’t see myself wearing one in this form. It’s a bit glaring for me and seems a bit like music festival fashion.  I’d much rather the traditional Irish Claddagh ring become the social norm where one ring is for male and females and displays any relationship stage you might be in.

SINGLE – On  your right hand with the point of the heart toward the fingertips.

IN RELATIONSHIP- On your right hand with the point of the heart toward the wrist.

ENGAGED – On your left hand with the point of the heart toward the fingertips.

MARRIED – On your left hand with the point of the heart toward the wrist.

What do you think of My Single Band? Would you wear one?
