Blog: Christmas Night Art

Come see what abstract art can be made from the Christmas lights hanging in the neighborhood.

I don't celebrate Christmas but I do celebrate the art of Christmas. I love driving through the streets of Studio City after 10pm when everyone is nestled into whatever their nestled into...or out of town. It's peaceful and the streets are quiet. It suddenly seems like a small country town as I drive south of the boulevard in search of some great Christmas light displays. I particularly go for the colored displays. I do a crazy shaking thing with my camera and the results are abstract, unpredictable designs reminiscent of a childhood kaleidoscope I used to look through. Shooting at night is enjoyable because there isn't any of the usual bothersome traffic. People scurrying around are no longer scurrying and I have the entire neighborhood at my disposal. I drove up and down a few blocks for about an hour. This is the best of what I created. They are all available in canvas and print. Feel free to contact me about the ones you're interested in. Or you can visit my website though these holiday abstracts are not on the website yet.

Hope you enjoy these!
