Local Artist Hosts The Pleasure Principal Exhibition

Members of Art Gallery Parties LA Meet Up gathered at Clara Berta's Villa Berta Gallery in Studio City to view the new exhibition, "The Pleasure Principal," a group show curated by Charity Burnett.

In 2010 Clara Berta got the idea to start a Meet Up for mixed media artists and interior designers. After receiving a positive response, she co-founded another Meet Up for art lovers called Art Gallery Parties LA. Two years later, both Meet Ups are thriving. Berta recently opened her home and artist's studio to Meet Up members for "The Pleasure Principal,"  a group show of seven Los Angeles painters curated by Charity Burnett.

Inception Wines  and cheeses from The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills graciously contributed to the poolside repast. Attended by over 90 art lovers and collectors, the success of this Meet Up is a testimonial to Berta's contagious exuberance for art.

Richard Lyon, an art enthusiast and Meet Up member commented on the night, "Intriguing people, cocktails and conversation were in abundance. Of particular interest were Charity Burnett's delectable drawings in licorice and cherry candy liquid line."

The Pleasure Principal features works from artists Alex Couwenberg, Clara Berta, Summer Janelle, Sharon Weiner, Sharon Suhovy, Charity Burnett and Chris Trueman.

Berta paints on canvases from the Exceptional Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization that gives disabled adults meaningful work building quality artist's supplies.

Works will be on view Friday, May 18  to Sunday, July 15 by appointment only.Clara Berta is a mixed media artist and teaches art classes in Studio City.www.bertaart.com
