At today's Rotary Club of Studio City/Sherman Oaks luncheon meeting, Kathleen Adams, Clinical Director for C•A•T•S Center for Assault Treatment Services gave an informative presentation about her organization and the important work they do to assist victims and capture assailants.  http://www.abuse-assaultservices.org/

The mission of Northridge Hospital Medical Center’s CATS program is to assure and promote dignity and respect for victims of sexual abuse and assault, minimize their trauma, and provide law enforcement with the evidentiary documentation to successfully prosecute perpetrators.

Kathy is responsible for managing the clinical component of the CATS program including supervision of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners and support staff. In addition, Kathy conducts sexual assault examinations and forensic interviews, and coordinates the CATS multi-disciplinary response team. Kathy has been a sexual assault examiner since 1996 and joined CATS in 1997. She has a certificate in Forensic Nursing from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
