Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl POW for nearly FOUR YEARS in Afghanistan. WHY?

Today I saw a poster at the Agoura Do-It-Center concerning Sgt. Bergdahi, a POW held by Middle East terrorists.   I am embarrassed to say I had not heard of his plight.  Certainly a POW in the Middle East would be a noteworthy news item; a real life drama which apparently has had to compete with all the ongoing scripted reality shows.  Realty shows, which have dominated as income generating docu-drama-comedy to plug  into slots and segments previously reserved for ongoing NEWS stories.  So while my households’ last year, let alone four years,  have had enough drama for a lifetime it certainly seems unreasonable that an American held prisoner (not POW since there is no declared war) would have missed my attention completely if it had been updated as previous POW stories.

Ironically it is reported today a letter from Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho was obtained by the International Committee of the Red Cross and provided to the Bergdahl family.  The family believes the letter to be two months old.

Sgt. Bowe Begdahi was captured in Afghanistan June 30, 2009, two months after he was deployed as a machine gunner.  The consensus is he is being held by a Taliban group.

So Friday and Saturday the President of the United States is meeting with the head of China – in a PRIVATE HOME without any reporters within shouting distance.

During the past four years the President has found the time to appear at least a dozen times on various entertainment talk shows.  NOT ONCE bringing up the plight of Sgt. Begdahi.

Sgt. Bergdahl’s capture was not during a previous administrations’ watch.   His capture and continued imprisonment is barely noted  by the President.    The President visited the Middle East as recently as March of this year and  there was no mention of Bergdahl.

Prior to the Presidents departure to the Middle East, when John Brennan was a nominee as CIA Director, we saw a yellow POW bracelet on Brennan's wrist, That was February.- almost 4 months AGO!

So the question becomes will Begdahl’s release coincide with a need-to-downplay news of pacts made with N. Korea and /or China.

In other words, has Begdahl’s status become a news pawn?  Information and updates are delivered to coincide with other DC news that might need distraction. Ie: a visit by a head of state (aka CHINA).
