Before I start showering you all with cute pictures of adoptable cats, dogs, bunnies and whatever else, I'd like to introduce you to my little man, Sammie -who is actually sitting next to me as I type this. He has like a million nicknames, but my fav is "Mr. Fluffers" because he is such a fluffy boy!
I often talk about him very freely like he is a person and everyone knows who he is. He is my roommate. I wake up to him and go to sleep with him. He just turned 1 year old in January. He's an akita, chow and jack russell terrier mix (I know, so weird!). I adopted him when he was about 4 weeks old (see picture). He was so little that my sister and I would take turns sleeping with him on the floor, only to find his nose searching for his mommy's nipple in our hair every night.
He was a calm and sleepy, fat, cuddly puppy and now he's pretty much the same, except he's wild! My family and I love him regardless of how wild and smelly he may be. He brightens our days. He loves us exuberantly. No matter how many pairs of shoes he's chewed, or how many sweater sleeves he's made holes in, it's all worth it because we have an amazing and loving dog in our lives even after we decided to not get another dog after our previous dog, Gordo, died several years back.
