Why I hate guns!

There is no need for them except in the hands with the responsibility to protect and serve. In a time that communication has dwindled to 130 characters in a text or even fewer in a twitter posting, it’s no wonder we’ve become a society who needs satisfaction immediately. A gun is the ultimate in instant gratification for those that are inclined to do so. Whether it’s mental illness, alcohol, drugs or seemingly insurmountable rage. These are all toxic. No one less than the other. So how do we address so many issues for so many? Are we able as a nation to reverse the need for speed? Can we relearn and replace that need with a willingness to seek help in whatever capacity necessary such as therapy, rehabilitation or the ultimate in your face expression…..talk. Look at someone in the eye. Reach out to them. Help them. You may not be able to solve their problems but knowing them is half the battle. Reconnecting with each other is the key. Yes its corny but the eyes are the windows to the soul.. Look into their soul. So much will be revealed. So much of what they need/want is right before you. It could be as simple as that moment of connection. It could be as complex as mental illness. Yes there is still a stigma. But you have a responsibility to whatever entity you look for comfort in. The state of affairs our society is in is been put before us as a challenge. Heartbreaking beyond belief. No matter what your political leanings are, we all must agree that we are living, breathing entities with needs. We all want to be heard, healed and held. Don’t you? Be honest. Are we truly unable to meet the challenge? We must. Please open your eyes, hearts and minds and help create a change. A change that demands the part of our brain addicted to electronics, the need for better, faster, stronger be retrained to connect with each other and slow the eff down. We are all here together for a reason. Take the time to find out why.
