Why I hate guns!

I am scared for my children, my community and our world and here is why. What are we going to do about it. It has to happen NOW!

There is no need for them except in the hands with the responsibility to protect and serve. In a time that communication has dwindled to 130 characters in a text or even fewer in a twitter posting, it’s no wonder we’ve become a society who needs satisfaction immediately. A gun is the ultimate in instant gratification for those that are inclined to do so. Whether it’s mental illness, alcohol, drugs or seemingly insurmountable rage. These are all toxic. No one less than the other. So how do we address so many issues for so many? Are we able as a nation to reverse the need for speed? Can we relearn and replace that need with a willingness to seek help in whatever capacity necessary such as therapy, rehabilitation or the ultimate in your face expression…..talk. Look at someone in the eye. Reach out to them. Help them. You may not be able to solve their problems but knowing them is half the battle. Reconnecting with each other is the key. Yes its corny but the eyes are the windows to the soul.. Look into their soul. So much will be revealed. So much of what they need/want is right before you. It could be as simple as that moment of connection. It could be as complex as mental illness. Yes there is still a stigma. But you have a responsibility to whatever entity you look for comfort in. The state of affairs our society is in is been put before us as a challenge. Heartbreaking beyond belief. No matter what your political leanings are, we all must agree that we are living, breathing entities with needs. We all want to be heard, healed and held. Don’t you? Be honest. Are we truly unable to meet the challenge? We must. Please open your eyes, hearts and minds and help create a change. A change that demands the part of our brain addicted to electronics, the need for better, faster, stronger be retrained to connect with each other and slow the eff down. We are all here together for a reason. Take the time to find out why.

Your last paragraph mentions a statement that contradicts your posting, "A change that demands the part of our brain addicted to electronics, the need for better, faster, stronger be retrained to connect with each other and slow the eff down.".

For those who think that gun control protects society I cite the record of our neighbor Mexico, which has some of the most stringent and severe gun laws in the world. Yet the Mexican government has been unable to protect the 60,000 to 100,000 Mexican citizens who have been killed during the last six years by the organized crime syndicates. All their gun laws have done is to deprive the good citizens the ability to protect themselves. Think About This Before Jumping On The Gun Control Bandwagon !

No worries, the state is here to protect you against these crazy people. Recept for the 1,706,886 law enforcement officers, 5,034,983 convicted felons, or 286,436,642 active military that could potentially go crazy at any moment. I mean with odds like that, you should be pretty safe. And if you don't feel that way, no worries. You can instead of carry a gun, just carry a police officer on your back. Unless of course the police officer goes crazy. At that point I have no idea what you should do because you have no way to actually defend yourself. If another evil tyranny rises again such as Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, or Hitler come enslave and kill millions of people. No worries, luckly you can predict the future so it won't happen. And don't worry about the universal law of science. Every living organism on this planet got to this point from being weak and defenceless.
