So here is another idea for you to do during the summer. I know about a budget. I just got my July paycheck from LAUSD. very sad with the furlough days. Anyway, so I have been creative in what to do this summer.
We live near the beach so this is a good thing to take advantage of. If you go during the week it is much cheaper. parking at the beach is about $8 to $9 if you go during the week. That is to park rigth on the beach, but if you go early enough like around 10, there is a lot of street parking for free.
WE brought our own lunch so we didn't buy food, but we did buy a slice of pizza for a $1.50. WE took our bikes and biked from Venice beach to santa monica first, then we sat on the beach and read for 2 hours. it was great. My son likes to read. Then we rolled around in the sand. So for abotu $11 we spent almost 5 hours out there. It was a cool day, kinda cloudy, but very very nice.
Just to let you know though, there are a ton of Pot shops on Venice beach, but you do not have to go by them. The play ground is away from them.
