Theresa Giagnocavo
Theresa Pondozi Giagnocavo DeRocco was born in Terracina, Italy. She grew up in St. Johnsville, New York with her parents Mary and Dominic Pondozi and three sisters, Pauline, Viola, and Amelia. he died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Studio City, California at the age of 99. Arnold Sol Newdorf
Arnold Newdorf was born in the Bronx, New York, to Benjamin and Beatrice Newdorf. His father owned a fruit stand. Arnold died at age 86 in Los Angeles of heart failure. He lived a life marked by devotion to career, family, and friends. Arnold grew up speaking both Yiddish and English. He served on the boards of GLAAD-LA (at the time, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and PFLAG (originally Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays). He was active in the Ethical Culture Society in New York and, later, Los Angeles (c.1950s to '70s).
He is survived by his wife, Lois Newdorf; his sister, Rita Lerner of Prescott, Ariz.; sister-in-law Ronnali Rosenfeld of Studio City, Calif.; daughter Barbara Feldman and son-in-law Howard Feldman of Del Mar, Calif.; son David Newdorf and daughter-in-law Shoey Sindel of Berkeley, Calif.; step-son Joseph Silverman and partner Paul Mowry of Sausalito, Calif.; step-daughter Aliza Silverman of Studio City; and grandchildren Matthew Feldman of San Francisco, Calif., Erica Feldman of Boston, Mass., Noah Newdorf of Berkeley, Jacob Sindel of Berkeley, and Ellie Mowry-Silverman of Sausalito. Arlene Stephens
Arlene Stephens, 87, of Colorado Springs, passed away at her home on October 11, 2013. Arlene was born on December 15, 1925 in Newark, NJ to Parsek and Irene Germakian. She attended the University of Wisconsin to study education and later moved to Studio City, CA with her grandmother, mother and sister. Click here for the full obit.
