Community Corner

John Walker - Candidate For The Studio City Neighborhood Council

To My Friends, Neighbors and Fellow Stakeholders:

I am sharing this news with you now because there has been some speculation as to my continuing to serve on the Board of the Studio City Neighborhood Council?

There was a period, over the past 5 months when I thought I would take my experience elsewhere and still work for our community in another capacity.  When I recently said that I would not be running in the March elections for the Neighborhood Council, I received several emails from Stakeholders, had conversations with some of our community and elected leaders and decided that it would be best to run and if elected, serve what will be,  my final term on the Neighborhood Council.

There are several major issues that I have had the pleasure of moving forward with and now, would like to put closure on.  I have established wonderful working relationships with many of our elected City officials and those relationships have proven beneficial for Studio City.

We are also fortunate to have outstanding creative and sustainable working relationships with some of our most important local organizations, the Studio City Chamber and the Business Industry District (BID), both of which are fantastic partners and through our united efforts, we have been able to make and provide positive changes for our community.  We also enjoy a personal relationship with the Studio City Residents Association.

Let me say thank you and that, while it is humbling to be embraced,  it is also an energizing experience to feel appreciated.

Thank you very, very much for your encouragement and trust.

Sincerely,

John Walker
