It's World Poetry Day today, Wednesday, March 21.
The first World Poetry Day took place on 21 March 2000, created by UNESCO to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry across the globe.
Recently, I have been reading to my 10-year-old nephew from a book of poetry put together by called The World of Boys. It has fun poems about boys from Robert Louis Stevenson and others.
In our family we have a tradition of reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and adding our own verses around Christmastime, and reading The Raven around Halloween.
I also love reading the boys The Walrus and The Carpenter and Jabberwocky from Alice in Wonderland.
