Peet's Helps Local Charity Gather Blankets for Homeless

The local charity Hike It Up hopes to gather 1,000 blankets.

The local and a few other stores are agreeing to be the drop-off points for a Studio City-based charity, , which hopes to gather up at least 1,000 blankets to hand out to local homeless people in the San Fernando Valley.

According to the founder of the charity, Studio City's Hike Mkhoian, an educatior, he writes on his Facebook page:

Special thank you to Peet's Coffee, Pazzo Gelato, Menchie's Yogurt and Sunnyside Preschool! My car is packed with warm clothes and blankets to be distributed at the end of this month! Our goal is 1,000! Please donate a blanket at any of these locations and someone in need will be warm on these cold nights! :) (Yeah sure, warm sweaters and jackets too! but please make sure they are in good condition or new!)

The Peet's shop often allows a collection box for local charities. If you don't have a good blanket, then a $10 donation could cover one. The drop-off locations are at:

Menchie's Yogurt, 13369 Ventura Boulevard Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

Peet's Coffee and Tea, 12215 Ventura Blvd Studio City, Ca.

Pazzo Gelato 3827 Sunset Blvd. Silver Lake, Ca.
