Single in Studio City: Is Romance Dead?

Is there such a thing as ‘forever?’ How can you get the pizzazz, enthusiasm, and excitement back when wooing or being wooed?

Has internet dating taken the thrill out of the chase, the joy out of romance, the passion out of the pursuit? Are long term links possible in the 21st century?

Is everyone so jaded from unsuccessful liaisons that they’ve given up on the dream and have succumbed to a life of meaningless hookups and one night stands?

Are we headed towards an emotionless existence, settling for superficiality, afraid to take the plunge to connect on a deeper level?

Where has chivalry and gallantry gone? Has the women’s lib movement caused confusion, ruining it for the remaining hopeless romantics?

What does monogamy mean in light of the easily accessible flirtations that occur online in cyber space?

Many single people don’t want to bother with a serious union when there are plenty of fish in the sea. They’re hesitant to give up their so-called freedom, but at what price freedom?

It’s simple to dangle several prospects simultaneously, never wholeheartedly committing to any of them. However, keeping a foot out the door won’t allow you to soar to immeasurable heights of bliss and ecstasy.

This particularly applies to sexual satisfaction as a strong emotional and psychological bond is sure to enhance physical pleasure. It’s unlikely you’ll authentically accomplish this by spreading yourself too thin.

Is it even feasible to love multiple partners at once? Can you achieve a bona fide bond on an intense realm by keeping your options open?

Would you be as flourishing in your career if you juggled two or three jobs? Similarly, majoring and/or excelling in numerous subjects produces a Jack/Jane of all trades, master of none.

Nothing but steadfastness, determination, and complete dedication will result in an everlasting, profound, rich, fulfilling association.

How do you get the nerve to go the distance? It takes courage and confidence. If you’ve had a tendency to give your power away in the past, you might be left feeling defeated and forlorn.

Correspondingly, fear of victory can cause you to choose impossible scenarios, setting yourself up for failure, triggering subconscious prophecies.

If you’ve been programmed to believe you don’t deserve the best, you may deprive yourself of real intimacy and bow to frivolous dalliances.

Unresolved abandonment issues will ultimately surface when involved in amorous affections. You may accept abusive behavior rather than be alone.

It takes a lot of internal work to process that which keeps you from attaining your goals. Yet it’s completely viable to discard detrimental thoughts and actions that prevent you from displaying your greatness to the world.

You have the ability to alter your beliefs and therefore, what and whom you attract. Locate the place inside where you sense calm, contentment, and peace. There you’ll access the energy force that propels you to the significance and worth you deserve.

No matter what messages you have received previously, you can shed negative notions and primarily permit positive influences to penetrate your essence.

Imagine you’re wrapped in a bubble of protection and only the good can come in, while the negative bounces off. You are in control of the right of entry to your inner circle.

Embrace this time to reevaluate your friendships, family members, and acquaintances, rejecting unreliable and disloyal cohorts, particularly those who treat you in a demeaning manner.

Surround yourself with nurturing folks who accept you 100 percent without judgment and don’t manipulate you to change for their own personal agendas.

Remember that when a sweetheart leaves, the fondness you shared remains where it originated…within. You can continue to reach that special place, allowing the adoration and ardor to radiate and envelop your spirit. The tenderness you crave already exists as part of you, emanating from your heart and soul.

Bring your newly found or rediscovered magnificence tonight, Sunday Aug. 5, to a bash at the Cabaret Tehran, 16101 Ventura Blvd., Encino 91436 (at Woodley), from 7:30-11 p.m. It’s a private party brought to you by dozens of meetup groups with the entire restaurant being taken over. There’s seating for 250 plus a beautiful outdoor patio.

Expect a large turnout as evidenced by the multitudes of bachelors/bachelorettes that attended the last soiree of this sort. For $10.00 cash admission at the door, you get a free coupon for a singles gathering the following weekend at the Hilton Woodland Hills in the Big Ballroom Upstairs

Move and groove on a large dance floor to 70s, 80s, and 90s music with DJ LA Brian and Laura, your hosts. If you’re hungry or thirsty, delectable cuisine and drinks are available at a reasonable cost. There’s plenty of parking on the street or under the building.

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.
