Car Drives into House on Elmer Avenue

No major damages to the house, but a woman was slightly injured.

A suspect fled the scene after driving a stolen pickup truck into a house in Studio City Monday night, leaving behind a female passenger who was slightly injured.

The house did not sustain major damage in the crash, which occurred around 9:35 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Elmer Avenue, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The male driver fled the scene and a female passenger was treated at the scene after complaining of pain, said Sgt. Randy Modrell of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

It was unclear if she was taken to a hospital, he said. The was no description available of the driver, who is now wanted on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, Modrell said. The pickup truck, which was reported stolen two days ago in Northeast Los Angeles, hit the house's chimney, he said.

The car swerved past the Woodbridge Park neighborhood park and missed a sharp turn with clear skid marks aiming toward the house. The chimney was damaged at the base.

A neighbor said the owner was a Vietnam veteran in the Marines and said, "It's a shame, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy." The owner of the house wasn't home for comment, but no one in the house was injured and police said there is no indication the crash was deliberately aimed at that house.
