Nine-Vehicle Crash on the 170 Sends Two to Hospital

The crash closed two southbound lanes, according to the CHP.

A crash involving as many as nine vehicles on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in the Valley Glen area sent two people to a hospital tonight, authorities said.

The crash on the southbound side of the freeway just north of Sherman Way was reported at 6:41 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment, but their ages, genders and conditions were not available, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

All lanes were reopened by about 8 p.m., the CHP reported.
