UPDATE: Power Restored to 806 Homes in Studio City

We will keep you updated.

The lights were out for 806 residential customers in an area from Toluca Lake to the middle of Studio City, predominantly along Ventura Boulevard. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokesman said the power went out in some areas at 5 p.m. Tuesday and most of the area's power was restored by midnight.

Most of the homes in Toluca Lake had power restored by 7:30 p.m.

The original prediction was that it would take until 4 a.m. Wednesday to fix the problems, but as a DWP spokesman said, "Our crews often beat those estimates."

Resident Richard Niederberg told Patch, "There is a significant power outage in Studio City, including the traffic signals at Laurel Canyon and Ventura Boulevard as well as the."

Farah Casis of Studio City wrote on Twitter at 7:30 p.m. "Full power outage in #StudioCity... Everyone's out on the streets. Good way to meet your neighbors."

Beau Allen tweeted: "Well on the bright side this power outage gives me an excuse to light my numerous scented candles and still keep my masculinity..."

An LA DWP spokesperson said that there were three separate outages in the Los Angeles area, and they are unclear of the cause at this point.

Studio City Patch will keep you informed as more news develops.
