Studio City Man Charged for Allegedly Hacking Emails for 'Revenge Porn' Website

Two California men, including one from Studio City, were arrested Thursday for allegedly hacking into people's email accounts to steal nude photos that were then posted on a "revenge porn" website.

Charles Evens, 25, of Studio City, was expected to appear in federal court in downtown Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. Hunter Moore, 27, of Woodland in Northern California, was scheduled to appear in court in Sacramento, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The two men are named in a 15-count federal indictment that was unsealed following their arrests today. They are each charged with conspiracy, seven counts of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information and seven counts of aggravated identity theft.

According to prosecutors, Moore operated a website known as http://isanyoneup.com, where he posted nude or sexually explicit photos of people that were submitted without the victims' permission for "revenge" purposes. Moore allegedly paid Evens to hack into victims' email accounts to obtain additional photos, which were then posted on the site.

Prosecutors contend that Evens hacked into the email accounts of hundreds of victims.

If convicted, they face up to five years in prison for each of the conspiracy and computer hacking counts, along with two years for each of the identity theft charges.
