Wells Fargo Robbery Suspect Detained

Los Angeles police detain robbery suspect at Wells Fargo bank branch next to Ralph's in Studio City.

Los Angeles police detained a man wanted in an attempted robbery of the Wells Fargo bank branch in Studio City Wednesday.

According to Senior Lead Officer Michael Lewis, the suspect, a man, entered the bank at 12900 Ventura Blvd. adjacent to Ralph's near 2 p.m. and handed the teller a demand note.

No money was taken, Lewis added.

The suspect reportedly ran out of the bank and was chased by a citizen. Lewis said the tellers observed the man looked familiar from hanging around the area. The police quickly spotted the man a few blocks away in an alley between Ventura Boulevard and Arch Drive and he was detained.

Lewis said the suspect was positively identified in a field show up.
