Neighborhood Council Elects Officers, Appoints Chairpersons

Studio City Neighborhood Council President John Walker posts a letter about the Nov. 20 officer elections.

The Board of the Studio City Neighborhood Council at it's November Board meeting elected the following:

  • Dr. John T. Walker, PhD - President
  • Lisa Sarkin - Vice President
  • Remy Kessler - Treasurer
  • Rita Villa - Secretary
  • Jane Drucker - Corresponding Secretary
We would like to thank the board for it's confidence in this group to continue to provide both leadership and service to our community.

As president, I have appointed the following individuals to chair these committees which will be officially disbanded and reactivated at our December board meeting:
  • Budget: Mark Batterman
  • Bylaws: Jane Drukcer (Vice Chair, Nancy Meyer)
  • Cultural Affairs: Richard Niederberg (Vice Chair, Mary Mallory)
  • Government Affairs: Rita Villa (Vice Chair, Barry Johnson)
  • Land Use: Lisa Sarkin (Vice Chair, Richard Niederberg)
  • Outreach: Lisa Cahan-Davis (Vice Chair, Lee Davis)
  • Transportation: Scott Ouellette (Vice Chair, Ben Di Benedetto)
  • Public Safety: Brandon Pender (Vice Chairs, Marcella Bell & Ray Cacciolio).

Vice chairs are appointed by the chairs of each committee and are responsible to the chair of their respective committees.

Let us also remind you that in March of 2014, all of the seats on the board will be up for election. Please give serious thought to running and serving in our community. We have worked hard to make our board one that is respected throughout the City of Los Angeles and that has helped to preserve and protect the quality of life we have all come to enjoy. More information will be released next year.

Also mark in your calendar the free Luminaria event which takes place Dec 8., 4 to 7 p.m. at the Campo De Cahuenga. A joyous celebration filled with tradition for the entire family.
