Marijuana Dispensaries Report Planned for Land Use Meeting, What do You Think?

Wednesday will feature an update on the pot shops still in Studio City. Answer in the poll.

At Wednesday'smeeting for the  there is scheduled a presentation of the remaining marijuana dispensaries in Studio City—what remains opened and what has recently opened.

Chairperson of the committee, Lisa Sarkin, will present the latest update, showing the 13 dispensaries still in operation locally along Ventura Boulevard. There are eight between Vineland and Colfax Avenues.

"According to the  City Attorney, only two were open before the moratorium in 2007, so only two should be open now.  Unfortunately, the city attorney is unable to close them down because of new court decisions."

There is planned discussion and possible motions with respect to the continued proliferation of marijuana dispensaries within Studio City.

In other business is a request for a full-line alcoholic beverage license for Sammy’s Woodfire Pizza located at 12050 Ventura Blvd. including shared parking, increasing seating from 159 to 172 with hours of operation from 11 a.m. to midnight, seven days per week. Rachel Finfer will make the presentation.

Then, the Design Advisory Committee could make a motion after reviewing the signage and façade for Sammy’s Woodfire Pizza.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the  lot.
