Neighborhood Council Plans Special Hearing Over Harvard-Westlake Bridge

Studio City Neighborhood Council President John Walker announced a special meeting regarding the addition of a parking garage at Harvard-Westlake School and a bridge over Coldwater Canyon Avenue.

The neighbors have expressed a lot of concern in the past, and Walker has met with the school to find out more about the development, which will keep students from parking in the neighborhood of the hills and along Coldwater.

About 75 people showed up to offer input into a Harvard-Westlake Campus Parking Improvement Plan at a Land Use committee meeting and the school also held an informational session at the Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel.

Walker said, "The Studio City Neighborhood Council will be having a Special Meeting with a full presentation regarding the Harvard-Westlake development project on Thursday, November 7th at the CBS Studio Center starting at 6:30 p.m, with the presentation to begin promptly at 7 p.m."

He added, "We have received a great many emails and letters from the surrounding neighborhoods about this project and now that we know the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) is going to be released on or about October 10th, this will be the time when all the facts will be presented. This Board will have had the opportunity to read the DEIR beforehand and the public can also read it upon release at either: www.studiocitync.org or cityplanning.lacity.org, and currently read about the project at: www.hwparking.com."

Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A allowed and depending upon the number of stakeholders in attendance, a limit of one minute may be offered for general comments.

If you are attending on behalf of an organization, those individuals also attending will be able to offer their time to one individual speaker, with a maximum amount of 10 minutes. Those individuals giving their time will not be afforded any other time to speak.

A formal meeting agenda will be distributed 72 hours prior to meeting.
