Wendy Greuel and Brad Sherman Speak at Neighborhood Council Tonight

A message from Studio City Neighborhood Council president John Walker.

Dear Neighbors and Fellow Stakeholders:

As I wrote in a previous Email message, your Board will be presenting candidates for Mayor throughout this and into the next year.

At our October 19th Board meeting, I am happy to announce that Wendy Greuel will be our guest speaker – sharing her vision of how to make Los Angeles the great City it once was.  She will speak on jobs, financial issues and other important matters that currently effect us all.  She will also be available for questions after.  Since there is no question that this next Mayoral election may be one, if not the,  most important we may ever take part in, I urge you all to attend and be active in this decision.  Unless you know where the candidates stand – you may not be able to make the choice for the candidate that best represents YOU and what your ISSUES are.

Also at this meeting, we will be introducingCongressman Brad Sherman – who has never appeared before our Board and this community.  The Congressman will be talking on such issues as the economy, Social Security and Medicare as well as other issues facing Congress and would be happy to take questions – so come prepared.

As you already know, we are in need of repair and good ideas can come from YOU!

In accordance with item 13 on the agenda, here is the accompanying letter from SCNC to Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority in support of a combined study approach to relieve traffic on the I-405 Freeway by merging the Sepulveda Pass/Van Nuys Transit Project with the Van Nuys Corridor Rapid-way Project and that the project consider a continuous subway alternative (similar to the Red Line) to relieve traffic congestion on the I-405 Freeway.

Please, try to attend these very important meetings and voice your opinions to those that can actually help make a difference.

Sincerely,

John Walker
President, SCNC
