VIDEO: Ed Begley Jr. Sells Studio City Home (for Above Asking, too)

He's staying in the neighborhood, though. Now you can take the virtual tour as narrated by the actor.

Well, he said he was going to do it, and he did. Ed Begley Jr., actor and environmentalist about Studio City, made his current home as green as possible and then bought another lot to build another one, vowing to list his current home.

It just sold, according to listing agent Brandon Begley, the actor's cousin.

"We listed Ed and Rachelle's current home on Mound View Ave. Studio City on April 23," Brandon said. "We listed it for $960,000 and within two days we received six bids on the home.

"We are in escrow now and Ed accepted an offer for $1.025 million," Brandon said.

In February 2012, the actor announced that he would be selling his famously environmentally friendly house, complete with the solar panels in tact.

"Your bills will be super low living here because of all the things we built into it," Begley says on the sales video to the future homeowner of his house.

Another feature of the house, Begley Jr. touts, is that it is situated in a "very communal neighborhood." He walks everywhere.

In fact, according to Brandon Begley, Ed Begley Jr. took the subway to the Oscars this year.

The new home the Begleys are building are about 2 miles from his 1936 charmer, Brandon Begley said. Ed and his wife Rachelle are expected to move into their new home, bigger and even more green, on Dilling Street by the end of the year.
