Sunday turned out to be an exceptionally beautiful sunny day, and a great time for a fundraiser for Valley View Elementary School.
The tiny school in the Cahuenga Pass which is part of the Valley Gateway PTA only has 240 students K-6 but is facing drastic budget cuts.
For the first time the PTA decided to take their popular Fall Festival off campus to a place where there's better parking, and better weather. So, they held it at North Weddington Park and it was expanded to children everywhere—and many came.
Music teacher Robin Randall showed off students performing the songs they wrote themselves and singing them with piano and guitar students also playing for the public for the first time. The program is thanks to a grant from the which also sponsored an Arts & Crafts booth at the festival.
There were performances by the School of Martial Arts in Burbank, cheerleaders, Spanish dancers and much more.
Studio City Patch helped out with some of the booths, taking tickets and helping with the crafts booth (but we think we just messed up a few kids' projects, sorry). We got our just desserts by entering the pie-eating contest, though (see photos and video attached.) Thanks for letting our team help out!
