Our Carpenter Community Charter School Orchestra will present its end-of-the year concert on Tuesday, June 19th at 8:15 AM in the Carpenter Auditorium.  All parents and guests are welcome to attend and enjoy the accomplishments of our Cougar musicians.

CARPENTER WEEKEND @ BOOKSTAR FEATURING SPECIAL EVENTS AND SUMMER READING LISTS PREPARED BY YOUR CARPENTER TEACHING TEAM 

Friday, June 15th, Saturday, June 16th, and Sunday June 17th is the Bookstar/ Barnes & Noble Book Fair!

Get your last minute Father’s Day shopping done and stock up on your Summer Reading all while earning money for Carpenter. A portion of proceeds from the sales will help to keep our school library open.

Special events on Saturday the 16th:

10:30am – Bring the little ones to Storytime with Lindy
1pm – Special LEGO Event!  (all spots have been filled but come by in case of no shows!)
3pm – Meet Paul Michael Glaser, author of Chrystallia and the Source of Light, and get your copy signed!

The Carpenter faculty has prepared suggested reading lists for summer reading. You can pick up the lists for your child's grade level at the Bookstar (12136 Ventura Blvd.) beginning Friday,June 15th. PTA POPSICLE PARTIES THIS WEEK

Congratulations to the following classes for reaching their 100% PTA membership goal for the year: Alberts, Edelson, Finkelstein, Freiberg, Freidlich, Glover, Krell, LaPittus, Le, Mora, Ramirez, and Richmond/Doryon. We will be delivering popsicles to these classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Thank you to these families and teachers for supporting the PTA during this years Membership Campaign! Questions? REMINDER: GET YOUR PTA RECEIPTS IN BY MONDAY, 6/11

The PTA has to close the books on the 2011-2012 school year. If you have any receipts or requests for reimbursements, please bring them to the school office by Monday, June 11th. Any receipts received after that date will not be reimbursed until the 2012-2013 school year. Mark your calendars - Wed, June 13 is early dismissal at 12:43 PM.  The next and final early dismissal is Mon, June 18.

REMINDER: POSITIVE BEHAVIOR MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, 6/13

GOVERNANCE COUNCIL MEETING THIS THURSDAY
 
The final Governance Council meeting of this school year will be held on Thursday, June 14th, at 2:45 pm, in Café West.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  At this meeting, we will introduce the new Council members for the next school year and vote for the 2012-2013 officers.  In addition, the Curriculum Committee will present a revised Technology Curriculum proposal and all standing committees will report on the goals that have been met this year.  Don’t miss this important, informative meeting!  Any questions, please contact Heather Tonkins at tonkins@roadrunner.com.  Thank you.

TRACK MEET THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 15th

Carpenter's annual Track Meet is this Friday right after school.  Volunteers are still needed to help with set-up, during the event and for clean up.  Please contact Amber Schaeffer at amberschaeffer@hotmail.com if you can help with any of the items listed below.

Set-up  12:00 - 2:00pm
Track Meet 2:40pm - 5:00pm
First Aid   4:00pm - 5:00pm
Clean-up 5pm - 6pm

IT'S THE LAST SPIRIT STORE SALE OF THIS YEAR

Carpenter Spirit Store is having their last sale of this school year on Friday, June 15th at the Track Meet from 2.20pm to 5.00pm. We are having a $5 clearance sale on old, discontinued items. Other items we're selling this week are: kids and adults t-shirts, coffee mugs, flashlights, picnic blankets and our colorful and unique Carpenter luggage tags that you can use when traveling this summer.
