Here are some college successes of local youth.
The following local residents were honored for receiving degrees from California Lutheran University at the Graduate Commencement Ceremony last month:
Lorena Torres of North Hollywood earned a Master of Business Administration degree in marketing.
Jason Cupp of Valley Village earned a Doctor of Education degree in higher education leadership.
Yuliya Kaminskaya of Valley Village earned a Master of Business Administration degree .
A total of 517 students were eligible to participate in the ceremony, the first commencement held in the university's new William Rolland Stadium.
The following local residents were among 610 students who made the Dean's List at California Lutheran University for the spring semester.
Thomas Manella of North Hollywood is a sophomore majoring in criminal justice .
Paul Smith of North Hollywood is a junior majoring in communication .
Students qualify for the Dean's List by maintaining a 3.6 grade point average in their academic subjects.

Lena Kelly of Studio City, CA (91604), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Kelly is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
Andrew Marsh of Studio City, CA (91604), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Marsh is enrolled in the university's John M. Olin School of Business.
Nathan Schoen of Studio City, CA (91604), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Schoen is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
Gregory Comanor of Valley Village, CA (91607), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Comanor is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Cornell University's Peter Telesca of Valley Village has been placed on the Dean's List of the College of Arts and Sciences for Excellence in Scholarship for the Spring 2012 semester.
The College of Arts and Sciences is Cornell University's largest undergraduate college. It provides a high-quality liberal arts education to its own students, and its courses are also accessible to all other students at Cornell. The college's faculty includes national and international leaders in their respective disciplines.
William Amon, a resident of Toluca Lake and a first year at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, is listed on the honor roll. To be listed on the SMU honor roll, students must be in the top 15 percent of their school of record. SMU's Spring 2012 enrollment included 10,471 students.
