Alice Cooper Helps Studio City Charity, Mr. Holland Opus, in Arizona

The rocker went to the Paradise Valley School District.

Alice Cooper made an appearance at an Arrowhead, Arizona school that was sponsored by the , a Studio City-based group that helps promote music at schools.

Cooper kicked off the day last week at the Paradise Valley Unified School District governing board meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. He later led the students in a class at his very own performing arts center.

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation is a non-profit group that gets a lot of help from longtime Studio City resident and renown musician and other world class musicians.

Cooper, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, presented 24 instruments worth about $20,000 to the Arrowhead Elementary School which is located in then northeast section of Phoenix, where many of the students are from low-income families.

Now the students can take an instrument home and don't have to share. They have 50 students playing the guitar and about 45 in the band.
