The North Hollywood Alumni Association gathered for their reunion Sunday afternoon and past classmates got together with memories from as far back as the class of 1937.
The McGrath family of Studio City, with two sets of twins—Jack and Lynn and and Teresa—all went together for the first time. Lynn said she had never been to a reunion. Very soon, she was dancing up a storm.
Hamburgers were served, a band played, and the classrooms and buildings were opened for the alumni to reminisce and look around. Yearbooks dating back to the 1920s were on hand, and clippings from famous students such as Teri Garr and John Williams, and former teachers were on posterboards for people to read.
Hilma Hansen-Bradberry, from the class of 1943, as well as Evelyn Boe Lohr (’41) and Richard Halpin (’37) are also in the above video reminiscing about the school. Hilma recalls the announcement in 1941 about the United States going to war, listening to the President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the auditorium on the radio.
