Rio Vista Posts New Schedule

All Tuesdays have a short schedule.

The school schedule for has been released, and there are some fun new things on the schedule.

First of all, there's a short day every Tuesday (called a Minimum Day) where teachers have to stay at school, but children are released at 1:22 p.m.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are Popsicle Days. It's a favorite for the Rio Vista kids provided for $1 and sold at the Kindergarten Gate or the Parent Center after school. All the proceeds go to the fifth grade field trip to Canyon Creek Camp in Lake Hughes on May 13 to 15 next year. Donations are always welcome.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 18 for the Back to School Picnic at noon at. It's right next to the school. Pizza and drinks and a Moonbounce will be available for purchase.

Monday, Aug. 20 is the First Day for Pre-K.

The Week of Aug. 27 is Scholastic Book Fair Week.

Tuesday, Aug. 28 is Back to School Night from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visit your child's classroom and see what they've been up to.

Friday, Aug. 31, the school will be closed.

I wish school started after Labor Day, like every other year of my entire life! :-)
