Several Valley Prep Hoops Players Nominated for McDonald's All American Games

Net proceeds from the games benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Thirty-one Southern California high school senior basketball players are among the 814 basketball players nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald's All American Games, it was announced Friday.

Among the players nominated are several that play for schools in the San Fernando Valley, including London Perrantes of Crespi High School in Encino, David Winfield of Harvard-Westlake High School in Studio City and Kris Yanku of Taft High School in Woodland Hills.

The 13 male and 18 female all-stars hail from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties and were selected by high school coaches, principals and members of the McDonald's All American Games Selection Committee to compete for a coveted spot in this year's games, a statement said.

Net proceeds from the games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities, whose programs are aimed at improving the health and well-being of children throughout the United States and abroad.

The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls selected to play in the 2013 Games will be announced Feb. 14.

The 36th Annual Boys Game will tip-off April 3 at 6:30 p.m. Pacific time from Chicago's United Center and be broadcast live on ESPN. The 12th Annual Girls Game will precede the boys game and will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Tickets go on sale Saturday.
