Spark The Spirit of Giving Back With Your Family

4GOOD Family Day on March 24 in Studio City offers hands-on volunteer opportunities for all ages.

Striving to instill a sense of community in your kids? Seeking a way to come together with your family to make a difference? On March 24, nonprofit volunteer organization 4GOOD hosts their first annual 4GOOD Family Day, 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Bridges Academy, 3921 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Studio City. Their aim: To spark the spirit of giving back in Angelenos of all ages.

Throughout the year, San Fernando Valley-based 4GOOD hosts and organizes family-friendly volunteer events with organizations such as Book Ends to bring books to local public school kids and SOVA Food and Resource Program to help their neighbors access healthy food.

On March 24, 4GOOD will offer myriad volunteer activities such as these all under one roof in one afternoon.

At the Family Day, kids can:

· Create cards to send to service men and women with Operation Gratitude;

· Decorate lunch bags and placemats for Meals on Wheels recipients;

· Plant a smile by decorating flower pots and potting flowers for local seniors;

· Learn how to conserve and protect their neighborhood with TreePeople and Heal the Bay; and

· Make their very own Change 4 Change bank to help their favorite causes.

The more activities completed at the 4GOOD Family Day, the bigger the reward. Each child will have the opportunity to earn a free face painting or a free 5-minute music lesson with live rock instruments from music lesson studio Join the Band. Admission is free.

4GOOD encourages Family Day volunteers to bring canned goods and toiletries to donate to SOVA, as well as gently-used stuffed animals, shoes and blankets.

Food will be available from sponsors Savore Catering and Taqueria Vista Hermosa. 4GOOD volunteers will also be selling lemonade for Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Entertainment to be provided by Carpenter Community Charter and Millikan Middle School.

4GOOD Family Day sponsors include: College Nannies and Tutors, Savore Catering, Join the Band, Taqueria Vista Hermosa, and Stella & Dot.

4GOOD is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization inspiring families to actively participate in volunteer activities. 4GOOD events are family friendly and help give parents a hands-on way for their children to learn the important values of kindness, community responsibility and good citizenship. 4GOOD also serves as a resource for parents all over the U.S. seeking ways to volunteer with their families.
