Walter Reed Invites the Community Friday and Saturday for Renaissance Celebration

As a fundraiser for the school, they're having the Faire of the Ages.

Students of Walter Reed Middle School are doing unique projects, booths and performances on Friday and Saturday and inviting the community over for their unique fundraiser.

The Fair of the Ages will have the students dress in Renaissance costumes and there will also be blow-ups and bouncers and other non-historical items.

The Renaissance Celebration of Arts and Innovation is being put on by the Friends of Reed, and is available to the public Friday and Saturday this weekend.

There's food, exhibits and fun for the whole family.

The public is invited Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I did the dragon ride eight or nine times yesterday! I had cupcakes that came from Big Sugar, tried food from around the world, had a terrific latte made by Mark Lizer, listened to three different bands, and did archery. That took an hour of my life and had me laughing out loud (dragon ride part). Just go!

By the way, though there are Renaissance roots to the fair--it's Fair OF THE AGES! All ages. All ages of people coming, all ages of history and fantasy for costumes: cave men and women, cowboys, Confucian Chinese, Star Trek adventurers, Gumpta Empire, dress like The Beatles, Revolutionary Army, come as your modern self--just come!
