Whiz Kids: Graduatling, Dean's List and More

Asia Smith, Patrick Hibler, Lynette Miller and Andrew Marsh deserve congratulations.

Asia Smith and Patrick Hibler both of Studio City, has graduated from Loyola Marymount University, joining over 1,300 classmates in LMU's 2012 Centennial graduating class. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.

Located between the Pacific Ocean and downtown Los Angeles, Loyola Marymount University is a comprehensive university offering 60 major programs, 38 master's degrees and a doctoral degree in education from four colleges, two schools and Loyola Law School. Founded in 1911, LMU is ranked fourth in "Best Regional Universities/West" by U.S. News & World Report. Nicole Chang of Studio City has graduated from California Lutheran University.

Chang graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication . Chang was among 672 students who were eligible to participate in the Forty-Ninth Annual Undergraduate Commencement on May 12.

CLU is a selective university located in Thousand Oaks, Calif, with centers in Oxnard and Woodland Hills for graduate courses and its Adult Degree Evening Program. With an enrollment of 4,100 students, CLU offers 37 undergraduate majors and graduate programs within the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Management and Graduate School of Education. Andrew Marsh of Studio City, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Marsh is enrolled in the university's John M. Olin School of Business.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the Olin Business School, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.

Washington University is counted among the world's leaders in teaching and research, and it draws students and faculty to St. Louis from all 50 states and more than 110 nations. The total student body is nearly 14,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

The approximately 3,400 faculty teach in seven schools: Arts & Sciences, Brown School, Olin Business School, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, School of Engineering & Applied Science, School of Law and School of Medicine. Twenty-three Nobel laureates have been associated with Washington University, with nine doing the major portion of their pioneering research there.

Studio City, resident and Azusa Pacific University student Lynette Miller made the academic Dean's List at APU. Miller is honored for a spring semester 2012 academic standing of a 3.5 or better grade-point average. A Social Work Major, Miller is joined by 1,650 other students receiving the same honor.
