Are You Ready To Face Your Fears?

What triggers trepidation, keeps you frozen in terror, prevents you from venturing out of the presumed safety your cubicle connotes?

Is it one on one trysts, social situations, conversing on a date, sexual encounters, saying no, setting boundaries, asking for help, or meeting a new prospect that generates heart palpitations?

Do you fret losing your identity in a close liaison? Are you concerned about committing to a passionate attachment?

As Halloween approaches, beware of disturbing, foreboding thoughts and visions. Are you afraid of things that go bump in the night?

Do you dread the dark? Do you stay awake until the sun rises to avoid gruesome nightmares? Conversely, do you sleep the evening away, frightened of dealing with people?

Are your dreams focused on falling, crashing, drowning, screaming, yelling; being chased, suffocated, threatened, kidnapped, assaulted, abused?

Are the skeletons (real or imagined) in your closet inhibiting you from bonding in an open and honest union? Do you have countless phobias preventing you from connecting on an intimate level?

Are you terrified of tall buildings, trees, tarantulas? Do you panic when natural catastrophes occur, e.g. rainstorms, lightning, earthquakes, floods? Are you alarmed on airplanes, boats, mountains, roller coasters, elevators; in small spaces; at the ocean?

Do you go into shock at the sight of needles, hospitals, blood, graveyards? Are you nervous around ants, bees, rats, spiders, even clowns?

Who are the ghosts from your past that continually haunt you? Is it your mother, father, sister, brother, ex husband/wife, bff, boss, co worker?

Do you attend movies, plays, concerts, and dinners alone, worried that if you ask a guy/gal to accompany you, they might refuse? Do you opt for spending time solo simply to sidestep the risk of hearing a negative response?

Are you petrified of disapproval, hindering you from nurturing friendships and romantic relationships? If you’re given the cold shoulder, do you take it personally? Are you devastated when snubbed at a singles soiree after approaching an attractive member of the opposite sex?

Often, opposites hold true, i.e., if you’re afraid of dying, you’re afraid of living, and vice versa.

Do you agonize over possibilities of poverty, desires for wealth? Are you bothered by aging, perturbed vis-à-vis remaining youthful? Are you fearful of failure, nervous regarding success?

Are you loathe to feel sadness, hence, hesitant to express joy? Are you scared of sickness and weakness, thus, apprehensive of experiencing health and strength?

When confronted or attacked physically, verbally, emotionally, do you stand your ground or flee from fright?

Love is letting go of fear. Love is more powerful than fear. When you love yourself and others, you can conquer a troubled mind. To the extent you trust the universe will provide for and protect you, anxiety dissipates. As you allow the world to embrace you, uneasiness diminishes.

What you fear most may materialize. Attempt to replace worrisome views with the conviction that you'll be taken care of, that all is well in the here and now. Comprehend that your needs will be met.

Realize rejection merely means there is something or someone better in store for you. Rely on the notion that the cosmos has an endless supply of gifts, just waiting around the corner. Accept the maxim, “As you believe so shall you receive.” Expect your dreams to come true.
