Bowling Tournament Yields Double 300s in a Row

In a rare bowling tournament held at the PINZ Bowling Alley over the weekend, two bowlers hit a perfect 300 score and they were right behind each other.

Timothy and Keith from the Santa Clarita bowling league joined about 50 others in the sanctioned bowling tournament and right behind each other, they got perfect 300s.

Now, it is true that this tournament was a No-Tap contest where getting 9 down on the first ball counts as a strike, so it wasn't a pure 300. And, the tournament was teaming a youth member with an adult member so that any winners will have money go to a scholarship fund for the younger member.

"It doesn't happen that often that way, it's a pretty rare event," PINZ coach Barbara Lee said.

PINZ is also starting a 15-week short season starting Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. for a new four-person league for everyone. For those who can't bowl during the week, the Sunday Wonders is an option.
