Military Moms-To-Be Honored at Riviera

A baby shower is held during the practice round of the Northern Trust Open for women whose husbands are serving overseas.

Wednesday not only served as a practice round and Pro-Am for the Northern Trust Open at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, it was a day to celebrate a few special mothers.

Nonprofit group "Operation Shower" threw 40 Southern California military moms-to-be a baby shower at a tent called the Patriot's Outpost near the 10th hole.

Companies like Carl's Jr., Pottery Barn Kids and Carousel Designs gave away everything from burgers, to bottles and blankets. Organizers say it was just one way to honor the women whose husbands are serving overseas.
