Dear Toluca Families,
below is a communication the league received from LAPD this morning.
· Good morning, If you have seen the news this morning you are aware that there was a homicide at Weddington Park South. I want to reassure you that there is no immediate danger to the public at this time. The investigation is in the early stages and I am not at liberty to release more information. We have many resources dedicated to the investigation and will be providing extra patrol in the area.
Thank you
Sgt Alex Morrison
Public safety continues to be a top priority at our facilities. While this tragic incident did not occur on our fields or involve anyone in our league, we are concerned about anything that occurs at the parks our families enjoy. Toluca Baseball continues to work with LAPD to improve the quality of our parks and are grateful for their ongoing dedication to keeping us safe. When you see LAPD officers on patrol at our parks, please be sure to give them a friendly wave and thank them for their service.
Sincerely,
Tony Rolando, league president
