It May Be Tuesday Before Fallen Tree Is Removed

City crews are not available until after Labor Day.

A large tree has fallen, blocking the street at Landale Street and Farmdale Avenue in Studio City.

Local resident Glenn A. Miller reported:

"Another huge pine tree fell last night in Colfax Meadows. There was a loud cracking sound and then what felt like a small earthquake. It was a very tall multi-trunk tree on the northeast corner of Landale Avenue and Farmdale Avenue. It is now completely blocking my street of Farmdale. This is the second one of these trees to fall within a month of each other. The City had just last week finally cleaned up and cut down the other tree that fell. There are several other of these trees in that same block, some leaning precariously."

Normally, city crews would remove trees that block streets. But, this is Labor Day weekend, so there are no laborers available.
