Join the LA River Restoration Event with TreePeople and Village Gardeners

It's next Saturday, please call.

Staff from TreePeople and volunteers from the community help the Village Gardeners maintain the Valleyheart Riverwalk Greenway in Studio City and Sherman Oaks. Volunteers will help by hand pruning the shrubs and trees impeding the flow of traffic along Valleyheart Dr from Coldwater Cyn Ave to Fulton Ave.

Please wear a hat, use sunscreen and no open toe shoes.

The group will supply tools, gloves, water and snacks.

It would be nice if Tree People would help clean up the storm debris deposited two years ago. The tree lumbs and trash is still hanging from the piers beneath the bridge over the rivet at Balboa blvd. We ate waiting for your help.

When I asked Rick Rabins for direction on how we could start with trying to get the Fulton to Woodman river area going, he refused any help!

Mr. Killeen, currently the Village Gardeners maintains more than a mile of LA River greenway on an ongoing basis, which includes the participation of approximately 200 volunteers annually. Since this recently past July 14 through today, July 20, the Village Gardeners has hosted 2-LA River restoration events, which included approximately 90 volunteer participants (documented). The Village Gardeners is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization without any paid staff, including myself. I don't make a nickel for the community service work that I do on a full-time basis. We all have our limits, sir. So, I would really appreciate it if you would cut me some slack! Thank you.
