Celebrate Tyler Ganus' 11th Birthday at PizzaRev and Make Another Child's Wish Come True!

Now completely cured from a very rare blood disease, this popular tween is having a fundraiser at PizzaRev to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

While most kids were playing in parks and learning how to sing and dance in Mommy and Me groups, young Tyler Ganus was fighting for his life. He spent two of the first four years of his life living in a room at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, suffering from a very rare blood disease called Aplastic Anemia. His condition was so serious, he was offered a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the non-profit organization that fulfills the greatest desires of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical ailments. Tyler declined, however “he saw how those wishes impacted the other kids and families so positively,” according to his father, Paul Ganus.

Now fully recovered, Tyler has decided to celebrate his 11th birthday without the big party and lots of gifts. Instead, he wants to give back to the foundation that he personally saw change so many lives.

On Tuesday, June 18th, Tyler will be celebrating his 11th birthday at PizzaRev in Studio City. In lieu of gifts, he wants everyone to make a donation to Make-A-Wish, and throughout the entire day, PizzaRev will also be donating 20% of all proceeds to the foundation.

Tyler’s big party will be from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, when he hopes friends will “join him for a song, a smile and a slice of cake,” Paul says.

He adds that “Councilman Paul Krekorian has said he will try to stop by, and several people in the entertainment industry will be joining him as well.”

Tyler graduated from Colfax Charter Elementary School in Valley Village a week ago, where he was a straight A student, President of the Student Council, and the star of several of their musicals. He is also an accomplished musician, singer and dancer, an elite youth travel baseball player, and he was recently chosen to travel to Washington DC to participate in a week-long leadership council with other kids from all across the country. Tyler’s dad calls him “a great kid with a big heart, and a very kind perspective.”

Although Tyler and his family have a boatload of friends and supporters, they encourage everyone in the community to come out on Tuesday to celebrate and contribute to Make-A-Wish. PizzaRev is located at 12103 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, 91604, at the southwest corner of Ventura and Laurel Canyon.
