Cub Scouts to be Honored in Arrow of Light Award Ceremony

The United States Congress will be bestowing special recognition to 15 Webelos Scouts from Valley Village’s Cub Scout Pack 311 this Thursday, April 10th. They will be awarded the Webelos Arrow of Light award, the highest award in Cub Scouting, which allows them to bridge into a Boy Scout troop. It is the only Cub Scout badge that a boy can wear on his Boy Scout uniform.

The ceremony which takes place at 7:45 pm at Temple Beth Hillel in the Activity Center (AKA “Mercaz”), at 12326 Riverside Drive in Valley Village.

To earn the Arrow of Light award, Cub Scouts at the Webelos rank must work on technology, outdoor and mental skills, physical fitness, and learn about citizenship and working with others.

This year the Scouts who reached the summit of the Cub Scout trail, earning Cub Scouting's highest award include Luke Borders, Graeme Cote, Chase Croy-Perrett, Joey Gold, Nathan Goldman, Joshua Gruin, David Harris, Tommy Jacobs, Stuart Karpel, Cleo Nelli, Christopher Nelson, Jack Perry, Ryan Timmerman, William Trent, and Hunter Wedaa.

Graeme Cote, Tommy Jacobs, Christopher Nelson, and Hunter Wedaa will also be receiving “Super Achiever” awards, which is for Webelos Scouts who earn all 20 Webelos activity pins (the equivalent of Boy Scout Merit badges).

The Webelos Arrow of Light award ceremony will be preceded by the regular monthly Cub Scout Pack 311 meeting at 7:00 pm.
