North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry needs volunteers all year long to pack, deliver and distribute groceries. Valley Beth Shalom Chesed Connection, based in Encino, offers an extraordinary listing of local giving opportunities that can be filtered by interest, type of work, location and desired time commitment.

SOVA Food Pantry, a division of Jewish Family Service, is in the middle of its virtual food drive, for which contributions can be made online. For every $1  donation, JFS/SOVA can purchase $5 in groceries from its suppliers.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Shoppers can purchase a $10 coupon that will be scanned at checkout. Local stores are at 6601 N. Laurel Canyon Blvd., North Hollywood. If people from your office, school or place of worship would like to volunteer as a group, the food bank can take from 10 to 100 volunteers at a time.
