Neighbors Complain about 'Desperate Housewives' Filming

The filming of the hit series continues Thursday morning at the Pinot Bistro.

John Piccinnilli is being awakened by the ladies of in the wee hours of the morning.

For some guys that may sound like a perfect fantasy, but Piccinnilli doesn’t live on the famed Wisteria Lane. He lives on Valleyheart in Studio City.

And on Thursday morning, filming will continue on the now-closed. But, they’re starting too early, and that’s why Piccinnilli went to the meeting on Wednesday evening.

“I hear the F-word at 4 in the morning outside my bedroom window,” Piccinnilli said.

It’s not a bum living on the streets, though, it’s from the filming crew. He said that the noise for set-up begins at 3 a.m. and it wakes him up.

Film crews aren’t supposed to disrupt residents, and times are restricted. When he complained to the crew, Piccinnilli said he is told that the film crew got permission and a variance for the earlier times, and he also said he was never told about the filming in advance, as crews usually do.

It’s a constant problem, he said, as is filming at the nearby—and all the noise is after the times allowed by general filming permits.

“There are restricted times, but the city wants the money,” said, the committee chairperson. “We are going to try to put you in touch with the right person to help.”

Safety Committee chairman Richard Adams, who lives across the street from the former Pinot Bistro, said he has often seen filming later than 10 p.m. and earlier than 7 a.m. He also said he has called the police on the crews many times.

“And I refuse to watch anything that was shot in my neighborhood,” Adams said.
