Studio City Library Continues Distinguished Speaker Series

'E.T.' mom Dee Wallace is the next speaker in October.

The final speaker of the year in the Distinguished Speakers Series by the Friends of the Studio City Library is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4 and is scheduled to be Dee Wallace, most noted as the mom in E.T.—The Extraterrestrial.

The September speaker was I Dream of Jeannie star Barbara Eden and she read from her autobiography to a packed house.

Wallace, who has been an actor for 30 years, moved from Kansas to Hollywood and two years later landed the role for which she is most notably known:  Mary, the mom in E.T. – The Extraterrestrial. Wallace has 100 film credits and has worked with some of the most successful directors in Hollywood including Stephen Spielberg and Peter Jackson.

Wallace has written three books:  Big E,  Conscious Creation and her recently released Bright Light, which tells her story and provides the wisdom of staying connected to ourselves. 

Wallace’s inspirational discussion right before the holiday season is free and open to the public.

Past speakers this year have included Gregg Hurwitz, (The Tower, Do Not Harm), Aimee Bender (The Girl in the Flammable Skirt, An Invisible Sign of My Own), screenwriter Matt Lopez (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) and interior designer and cookbook author Grace Bauer.
