Here are five things to know in Studio City for the week ahead.

1. Organizers advocating to end violence against women want to participate in the movement One Billion Rising For Justice, which was highly successful in 2013, and explore how to find a place for the 2014 gathering in the San Fernando Valley. The discussion begins Monday, Nov. 25 at the Studio City Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Click here for more information.

2. It's Thanks giving on Thursday, with most city departments being closed on Nov. 28. The Studio City Library is closed Thursday and Friday.

3. The LAPD warns residents to be careful about leaving packages out on doorsteps or in vehicles for prolonged periods of time during the holiday season, with a heightened awareness toward theft. Click here for more information.
